Changes for big sister

It isn’t much a surprise that becoming a big sister has meant some big changes for our sweet Eila.  There have, however, been some fun giggle moments for all of us.

The responsibility of passing knowledge along means that big sisters read to their little brothers.  Here Eila’s explaining the finer details of “Baby’s first Bible” to Anders.  Hopefully it’s not the story of Cain and Able...

Two to ride?  Eila’s making sure she shows Anders how to steer a car at Lowes.  The checker in line was pretty aghast that we were out and about with such a new bundle.  Hey, lightbulbs aren’t going to buy themselves on maternity leave...

While it hasn’t been too bad, it’s natural to expect a bit of regression from the older sibling.  Here’s Eila cuddled up in one of her NomiAnn blankets in Anders’ infant carseat.

Eila has LOVED getting to be a big enough girl to work the baby swing controls.  It’s all we can do to keep her from playing Spiderman on the windowsills behind the swing, though, which inevitably results in bumps, owies, and a swing that won’t swing.

Not too big for tip-toes!
And then there’s the joy of mimicry.  Eila’s world was slightly rocked by the copious amount of time momma spends feeding Anders.  She’ll kill me for posting these pictures in about 10 years, but they are just too funny to keep to myself.  The best reaction came from her father, though.

Adam: “I don’t think I’m ready for this mental picture, yet.”
