The 12-ish Days before Christmas

Once the Christmas Cards were sorted, the real countdown to our holiday in Omaha began.  There’s always so much to do and much fun to be had.

If you’re not careful, reindeer start to run rampant throughout the house.

In order to keep Rudolph in his stall until Christmas Eve, one should make a yearly visit to one of Santa’s representatives.

Our Jolly Old Elf was clearly having a good time!
Then, of course, there is caroling to do.  Mom’s job ensures that there’s no shortage of holiday music in the Wilhoit Christmas season.

Sometimes she brings her work home.

Then, of course, there is wonderful family to visit!  Eila got to play elf to Auntie Lanette and Uncle Ted.

Just before leaving for the Midwest, we always look forward to Friends and Family Christmas at the Croswhites.  They’re such gracious hosts!

My favorite part of the evening was watching Eila explore a family heirloom toddler-sized rocking chair that was built by Karl’s great grandfather.  Eila was a big fan and it felt so special to have her join in what has surely been generations of children to play in the chair.

Kaden, Kristin and Rodney’s son (Darla’s grandson) even helped show Eila how it’s done.  Such a sweetheart!

With so much celebrating under our belts, it’s amazing we had any energy left to head East!
