Giving Thanks 2014

Eila officially turned 4 months yesterday - and I haven’t even managed to get this blog to Thanksgiving!  I’m going to have to throw wit and detail out the window just enough to get us caught up to a clean slate.  Please bear with the photo dump.

Kara and Nomi Ann became plane ships passing in the night.  Kara flew out on Saturday and mom flew in on Sunday leaving the Jr. Wilhoits with just one terrifying night without reinforcements.  Thankfully, Eila was cooperative - and we managed to survive well into the next week.  We had good incentive to try and find some rhythm with Ms. Eila since we had a very generous dinner invitation for Thanksgiving that week!

Adam’s Aunt Kay and Uncle John Stimson live in a gorgeous home in Seattle and opened up their home and dinner plans to our clan.  We were so grateful to have a warm and delicious holiday meal that didn’t include a whole day of cooking and clean-up.
Eila meeting her cousin Claire.

The beautiful table was full of great food and even better conversation.  Uncle John’s mom, Emily, was particularly full of wisdom and stories to share.   Our table mates included: Aunt Kay, Uncle John, John’s brother Rick, Grandma Emily, Cousin Claire, Cousin Joel, and Nomi Ann, Adam, and myself.  Beanie worked the floor area for cleanup.

Claire made the adorable table place tags.  Though Eila didn’t exactly need her own place setting, she certainly insisted on making her presence known throughout dinner.

Never one without something to say, here Eila greets her puppy cousin Beanie.  I’m pretty sure Beanie is contemplating how to chew the squeaky toy out of this mewling creature.

Our whole gaggle of turkeys.  Eila’s Aunt Alison provided the cute turkey bottom bloomers - the perfect addition to our day devoted to fine food and family.

It goes without saying that we’ve never had so much for which to be thankful for.  Our lives are so blessed by our new little girl and all of the love that she brings into our lives.  Thank you, Aunt Kay, for providing us with a wonderful first Thanksgiving for our growing family.
